Based in Cork and with over 25 years experience playing professionally, Dave Murphy is the ideal piano player and singer for your wedding reception/ceremony, hotel, restaurant, piano bar and any other occasion, public and private. Drawing from a huge repertoire Dave plays music from many genres, including Blues/Jazz, Pop, Rock n Roll, Traditional Irish and Classical, delivered in his own unique style. He also plays Ukulele, Guitar and Harmonica.
Dave Murphy is a well known and respected piano/keyboard player, vocalist, educator, sound engineer, songwriter and arranger/producer, with over twenty five years experience in the music industry. He has recorded and played keyboards with artists such as Don Baker, John Spillane, Mick Hanly and Jimmy Crowley. He has made numerous TV and Radio appearances performing his own work and has won many awards for his songwriting, winning five song contests, both nationally and internationally.
He has composed and recorded film music and jingles for RTE,worked as a musical director in the Cork Opera House and the Everyman Palace Cork and released three critically acclaimed CDs.
Dave has worked the lonely “piano man” circuit tinkling the ivories and singing his songs on lonesome cruise ships and residents bars in many low down smoky dead end joints throughout Ireland and the rest of the world. He has also played in the finest hotels and houses in Ireland including a private function in Micheal Flatley`s mansion in Castlehyde. Dave’s experience and knowledge built up over many years of performing live ensures that he will always provide an extremely professional and tailored service.
His vast and hugely enjoyable repertoire, from old Irish airs right through to the present day, encompassing many musical genres, delivered in his own unique style is guaranteed to add to the enjoyment of any occasion.
